Aden and Anais- New Arrivals

Nov 07, 2011 | By

This is such a fun time of year for retailers everywhere because we get to see and share all of the new products that companies have introduced for the next year.

After we returned from the ABC Kids Expo in late September, we were thrilled with what we saw, and thrilled to be able to pass that on to you all.

One company that did not disappoint is Aden and Anais.  Their new swaddle designs are our favorites by far. They feature new modern colors paired with vintage inspired designs. It's truly the best of both worlds and we're so excited they added to their swaddle print collection!

Girl Collection "For the Birds"

Boy Collection "Liam the Brave"

Neutral Collection "Super Star Scout"

Are you new to swaddling? If so, or if you just want a refresher, here's a short how-to clip that we put together. The same swaddling instructions come in print form on each Aden and Anais product.

Itty Bitty Momma's- Becca G.

Jun 17, 2011 | By
A couple weeks ago we introduced you to Debra, who was due to have her baby boy 3 days ago! And while we can't wait to hear the good news and meet him, we wanted you to get to know Becca. She was due June 16, but baby girl Jovie couldn't wait that long. She came out happy and healthy on June 9th! By the middle of May her doctor's were skeptical that she'd make it even that long though...that baby girl was ready!!

Jake and Becca Gaines
(Becca (8 mo. pregnant) and Jake Gaines)

Whether your a mom or not, it's always fun and exciting to watch and be a part of the pregnancy process. As first time parents, Becca and Jake have been crazy busy getting everything ready for baby Jovie. Thankfully, Becca was able to carve out a few minutes to tell us about her pregnancy. See what Becca had to say about being pregnant for the first time!

IBB: What is your most favorite part of being pregnant?
BG: Feeling her move! It's incredible. I get a small preview of her sweet personality. And everyone is so friendly! People definitely cross social boundaries that they would never cross otherwise...like touching my stomach or commenting on my body, but all have been kind.

IBB: What's your most  hated part of pregnancy?
BG: My aching back!

IBB: What is one thing you wish you could tell your baby before he arrives?
BG: That her daddy says she can't date until she's twenty-one, so don't even bother looking at the boys in the hospital nursery.

IBB: What is your nursery color scheme/theme?
BG: Her walls are a light neutral with a glitter glaze, and she has a round white capiz shell chandelier. Her bedding is mostly white linen, with ruffle details, in a robins egg blue iron crib. We have a natural linen slipcovered rocker glider, where we've thrown a few bright patterned pillows - with aqua, lime, and pink.

Her changing table is a 1940s wooden dresser refinished by her daddy with a high gloss, bright aqua lacquer. And she has a few funky accents like a soft sculpture mobile, and some shabby, colorful fabric birds (made by my sister and some friends for Jovie's shower) framed together in a contemporary shadow box.

IBB: What aspect of motherhood do you most look forward to?
BG:  I can't wait to see what a personality created from my husband's and my own is like! Also, I treasure the relationship that I have with my mother, and I'm excited to experience the other side of that.

Thanks so much Becca! We all had a great time getting to know you a little better, and wish you the best of luck. We can't wait to meet Jovie Gaines!

One of our June momma's is Debra. She and Brent are having their first baby- a sweet baby boy. She's due on June 14...but we'll see if she makes it!!

Debra had a few things to say about her first pregnancy, and we think you'll like what she has to say!

IBB: What is your most favorite part of being pregnant?
DW: My favorite part of being pregnant are all the smiles I get throughout the day. When people look at me there is always an automatic smile and it makes me feel good and special.

IBB: What's your most  hated part of pregnancy?
DW: The first 13 weeks were pretty tough. I was very sick and exhausted like I've never been exhausted before. A lot of people told me that the sicker you are, the healthier your baby is. It may or may not be true, but it helped :)

IBB: What is one thing you wish you could tell your baby before he arrives?
DW: I promise to do the best I can at being your mommy. I'm new at this!!

IBB: What is your nursery color scheme/theme?
DW: Neutral and light. I have light brown, green, yellow, and blue incorporated into everything.

IBB: What aspect of motherhood do you most look forward to?
DW: Loving this precious baby boy more than I have have ever loved anything in my entire life.

Thanks so much Debra! We all had a great time getting to know you a little better, and wish you the best of luck. We can't wait to meet the little man!

What questions would you ask if you could? Let us know and we'll get to our momma's for answers!
