Have Baby, Will Travel - Peg Perego Infant Seats

May 25, 2011 | By
There are plenty of infant seats on the market today, so how's a new mom to choose? Let us help narrow your search by introducing you to Peg Perego. Besides their beautiful, Italian design and luxurious fabrics, there are four key points that sets them apart from all of the other infant seats on the market.

In no particular order, here they are:

1. Side Impact Protection

Peg Perego Infant Seat
As you can tell, the support, structure and protection around your baby's head is like none other. Literally. There is no other infant seat that has as good side impact protection. Peg Perego invests many of their resources into researching the absolute best in safety, protection and comfort. Simply put, it's piece of mind as you're driving among less-than-cautious fellow drivers.

2. Made in Italy

Peg Perego Infant Seat
All Peg Perego infant seats are 100% made in Italy- from design to construction to final details. And if you know anything about Italians, you know they're all about quality!

3. No Re-Threading

Peg Perego Infant Seat

When it's time to adjust the height of the straps, you won't have to worry about stressful threading. Most seats require you to completely un-thread or remove the straps and physically re-thread them into the different slots/positions. Peg Perego was thinking and designed a simple lever in the back of the seat. Simply pull up or down depending on the height your looking to achieve. The lever locks into place so you don't have to worry about it slipping while your child is in the seat.

4. Breathable Fabrics

Peg Perego Infant Seat
Definitely a plus during these Southern summers! Everywhere the baby comes in contact with is upholstered in plush, breathable fabric. No more sweaty babies!

Besides the 4 enticing reasons above, the 2011 Peg Perego color selection is  beautiful! Java, a beautiful combination of chocolate brown and a khaki with a contrasting pin stripe is among our favorites!

Happy (and safe!) travels!

ERGO Baby Carrier

May 05, 2011 | By
Baby wearing widely discussed these days. Besides your group of mom friends, there are organizations and committees that focus solely on baby wearing that you can be a part of.

One carrier that has set the bar high is ERGO Baby- an ergonomic carrier that is comfortable for both the baby and you. We promise you will be pleasantly surprised with the ergonomic design. All the weight from the carrier and the child is placed on your hips and around your mid-section, so you won't have should, neck or upper back pain even if you carry your baby all day long.  What a blessing!

The ERGO Baby carriers come in a wide variety of fabrics (including a breathable mesh and organic cotton) and patterns. Speaking of patterns, we have just been informed that Petunia Pickle Bottom has partnered with ERGO Baby to offer three of their adorable patterns on ERGO Baby carriers! We got a sneak peak of the new patterns and they look absolutely precious! You can catch a glimpse of them on our Facebook page. They will be ready to ship in June 2011.

Ergo Baby
ERGO Baby allows you to carry your child from birth up to approximately 40lbs. Depending on baby's age and your comfort, you can carry your child in three positions: a front carry, side carry, and a back carry. Detailed instructions are provided with each ERGO Baby carrier so you can become a pro at carrying your child in all different positions!

ERGO Baby carriers are machine washable and fully adjustable. You'll be grateful for that when your 5' self and your 6'5" husband want to take turns carrying the baby!

To give you an idea of just how easy it is the wear and adjust the ERGO Baby carrier, we've put together a quick video tutorial. Come by and see us anytime to try them out for yourself, and get a feel for the carry you like best.

Thanks to mothers who have come before us, there are now genius products to make nursing a breeze! Gone are the days when you had to hide in your bedroom, the car or a discrete corner with a blanket barely balanced on your shoulders just to get baby fed.

Should you choose to breast feed, it shouldn't be a hassle, a chore or a bad experience. Get what you need to streamline and simplify the process. Today, there are adorable nursing covers designed with you and baby in mind so you can breast feed comfortably at home or on the go.

Nursing Cover Demonstration
Funky patterns and colors adorn each of the nursing covers. Feel free to get a couple so you can match to different outfits...or different moods!

The neck strap is easily adjusted to fit over your head and hang as low, or as high, as you feel comfortable. The rigid neckline allows you to keep an eye on your baby while still remaining covered and comfortable.

Nursing Cover Pockets
Inside each nursing cover are handy pockets that you can store breast pads, pacifiers, cloths or creams that always come in handy during feeding time.

Even if you choose to bottle feed, the covers can still come in handy during late night feedings. You can keep baby dark and covered as you turn on the lamp for yourself.

No matter how you choose to feed your latest addition, there are great mom-inspired products to help make your go at it a little easier!

Just Bag It!

Mar 24, 2011 | By
Have you had a chance to notice how much stuff you need for such a small person?! And once you get said stuff, where do you put it?

Your diaper bag will be your new best friend. Promise. (Okay, well maybe besides your new little addition!) Plain or patterned, cloth or leather, masculine or feminine, there are TONS of choices when you're selecting a diaper bag. It's important that the bag you choose has all the features you will want and need, so here's a breakdown of some of our favorite bag lines.

Amy Butler

You will not find a bigger bag than this! All your daily essentials and more will fit comfortably in our canvas/leather tote- complete with changing pad. Once your itty bitty grows out of the diaper bag stage, Amy Butler's bags are perfect to use as overnight totes, beach bags or carry on's. We all love double-duty products!

A second Amy Butler option is the cloth handle canvas tote. It's the same style and design as the leather handle tote featured above, except that you get a funky coordinating fabric on your handles. We love that the changing pad comes in a handy case that keeps it together and out of the way.

Skip Hop

Mom and Dad will both enjoy the sporty style and durability of the Skip Hop Via Messenger bag. One feature we love- the stroller strap. It's conveniently (and discretely) attached to the should strap and effortlessly clips off to wrap around your stroller handlebars. It's perfect for shopping trips when you need to save your stroller basket for fun purchases!!

skip hop bento bag
You get bang for your buck with the Skip Hop Bento Bag- part diaper bag, part lunch kit. The unisex design is ideal for parents with 1+ children. You can easily store your baby's bottles in the fully insulated side pockets and your toddler's snacks in the fully insulated bento kit that comes with the bag. The three plastic containers fit into the insulated bento bag and store away in a convenient pouch at the bottom of the bag.

The Bento Bag even has dual handles- one messenger strap or 2 shoulder straps with padded wrap-around. What will they think of next!

Petunia Pickle Bottom
diaper bag
Petunia Pickle Bottom is by far the most feminine diaper bag line out there. Their seasonal patterns, splashes of funky color and special touches, like embroidered patterns, set them apart from all the others. The Sashay Satchel bag (shown) carries like a purse or a backpack. Perfect for when your hands are full of little mischievous hands!

diaper bag tote
If you're children are a little older, of if you're just packing for a quick trip down the street it's safe to say you can take this snazzy little number. The Touring can be worn three different ways- as a small hobo, as a long-shoulder bag or strapped to the stroller with the Petunia Pickle Bottom stroller clips. And when you're done toting a diaper bag, how about using it as a purse? It's definitely cute enough!

Remember the "special touches" we mentioned? Here's an example of the embroidered patterns. Just a little something extra that enhances the style while still maintaining maximum durability and practicality.

The Boxy Backpack, besides being a great everyday diaper bag, has another special feature- the back of the bag zips down to reveal a fold-out padded changing mat. Say goodbye to public changing tables...and lots of germs! You can conveniently carry the boxy backpack over your shoulder or on your back. We think it would be great for Disney World...better plan a trip!

The Itty Bitty Bella Girls think this bag is divine. The Weekender, by Petunia Pickle Bottom is the perfect travel bag or bag for long days out. A changing mat and wipe case each have their own spot so you can quickly diaper change on the go. Like all the Petunia Pickle Bottom bags, this one is great for using after baby has grown up. Take it on weekend getaways with your special someone (after all, you deserve it!) or on the plane for far away vacations.

It's probably worth noting that all the diaper bags shown come with their own changing pad. More than likely it will get many, many (dare I say...many!) uses.

Good luck narrowing down your search. It's a tough choice!
