Baby K'tan Carrier

Unless you've been living under a rock, it comes as no surprise that baby wearing is most popular today. It keeps baby close and comfortable while giving momma the chance to clean, cook, read a book or just hang out. And don't forget the constant bonding!

Baby K'tan Carrier
If you're in the market for a sling or wrap carrier, look no further than Baby K'tan. What is Baby K'tan, you ask? It's a soft cloth cotton carrier that can be worn all the same ways as a cotton wrap...but you don't have the hassle of wrapping, tying and maneuvering yards of fabric.

Baby K'tan features two cotton loops that are connected with a back support band (a third cotton loop). This ergonomic design allows the Baby K'tan to worn in multiple positions, without complicated wrapping.  It takes the benefits of a sling wrap and a structured carrier and combines it into one.

Baby K'tan Carrier
Baby K'tan is conveniently sized according to your shirt size- from extra small to extra large. And one of the best parts- it's machine washable!

Slip away for a couple minutes and watch our tutorial video. You can see for yourself just how easy it is to use (and we don't even have kids!).

ERGO Baby Carrier

May 05, 2011 | By
Baby wearing widely discussed these days. Besides your group of mom friends, there are organizations and committees that focus solely on baby wearing that you can be a part of.

One carrier that has set the bar high is ERGO Baby- an ergonomic carrier that is comfortable for both the baby and you. We promise you will be pleasantly surprised with the ergonomic design. All the weight from the carrier and the child is placed on your hips and around your mid-section, so you won't have should, neck or upper back pain even if you carry your baby all day long.  What a blessing!

The ERGO Baby carriers come in a wide variety of fabrics (including a breathable mesh and organic cotton) and patterns. Speaking of patterns, we have just been informed that Petunia Pickle Bottom has partnered with ERGO Baby to offer three of their adorable patterns on ERGO Baby carriers! We got a sneak peak of the new patterns and they look absolutely precious! You can catch a glimpse of them on our Facebook page. They will be ready to ship in June 2011.

Ergo Baby
ERGO Baby allows you to carry your child from birth up to approximately 40lbs. Depending on baby's age and your comfort, you can carry your child in three positions: a front carry, side carry, and a back carry. Detailed instructions are provided with each ERGO Baby carrier so you can become a pro at carrying your child in all different positions!

ERGO Baby carriers are machine washable and fully adjustable. You'll be grateful for that when your 5' self and your 6'5" husband want to take turns carrying the baby!

To give you an idea of just how easy it is the wear and adjust the ERGO Baby carrier, we've put together a quick video tutorial. Come by and see us anytime to try them out for yourself, and get a feel for the carry you like best.

Wrap it Up

Apr 07, 2011 | By
Mothers swaddling their babes dates back to 4000 B.C., if you can believe it. The soothing effects of swaddling have been known to mother's around the world for generations, but until now it was not a widely talked about practice.

These days everyone wants to get tips, tricks and products for swaddling their babies. Could it be because experts and mothers alike swear it makes their babies sleep more soundly? Probably! While mothers have known for years that swaddling is the way to go, we can now thank science for dubbing swaddling as the most gentle, effective and beneficial practices for mothers and their babies.

Studies have shown that swaddling allows babies to sleep more soundly because they do not make quick movements (reflex motions) in their sleep that tend to wake them up. Scientists also say that swaddling recreates the warm, cozy, calming environment of the womb.

Aden and Anais muslin swaddle blankets are perfect for swaddling your baby to sleep or to lounge. The cotton muslin's' delicate, yet durable weave makes the fabric stretchy, allowing you to wrap baby snugly without being too restrictive. The cotton muslin is also know for it's "workhorse" properties- meaning that it stands up to repeated uses and washing, only getting better (and softer!) with age.

The Aden and Anais cotton muslin swaddles are perfect for Memphis summers. The weave of the fabric allows air to circulate around the baby, maintaining a constant temperature. It eliminates the threat of overheating as they sleep.

If you prefer to swaddle in a light flannel, we've got the perfect solution. Elegantly embroidered along the edge, our flannel swaddle blankets wrap your baby warmly and snugly- perfect for cool nights and cozy snuggles!

Just in case you haven't mastered the art of the swaddle, or if you need a refresher before baby #2 comes along, we've put together a video tutorial. Check it out and start practicing. Trust us, if we can do it you will have no problem!!
