Have Baby, Will Travel - Peg Perego Infant Seats

May 25, 2011 | By Cari Hale
There are plenty of infant seats on the market today, so how's a new mom to choose? Let us help narrow your search by introducing you to Peg Perego. Besides their beautiful, Italian design and luxurious fabrics, there are four key points that sets them apart from all of the other infant seats on the market.

In no particular order, here they are:

1. Side Impact Protection

Peg Perego Infant Seat
As you can tell, the support, structure and protection around your baby's head is like none other. Literally. There is no other infant seat that has as good side impact protection. Peg Perego invests many of their resources into researching the absolute best in safety, protection and comfort. Simply put, it's piece of mind as you're driving among less-than-cautious fellow drivers.

2. Made in Italy

Peg Perego Infant Seat
All Peg Perego infant seats are 100% made in Italy- from design to construction to final details. And if you know anything about Italians, you know they're all about quality!

3. No Re-Threading

Peg Perego Infant Seat

When it's time to adjust the height of the straps, you won't have to worry about stressful threading. Most seats require you to completely un-thread or remove the straps and physically re-thread them into the different slots/positions. Peg Perego was thinking and designed a simple lever in the back of the seat. Simply pull up or down depending on the height your looking to achieve. The lever locks into place so you don't have to worry about it slipping while your child is in the seat.

4. Breathable Fabrics

Definitely a plus during these Southern summers! Everywhere the baby comes in contact with is upholstered in plush, breathable fabric. No more sweaty babies!

Besides the 4 enticing reasons above, the 2011 Peg Perego color selection is  beautiful! Java, a beautiful combination of chocolate brown and a khaki with a contrasting pin stripe is among our favorites!

Happy (and safe!) travels!

Baby Showers- What to Do

May 23, 2011 | By Cari Hale
Hosting a baby shower anytime soon? Before you rush out and buy a house full of pink and blue streamers, check out some of our favorite ideas for uniquely themed baby showers. Trust us, your guests and the momma to be will thank you!!

Classic Books
Who doesn't love a good book? Not you, and certainly not the guest of honor. Plan a reading themed baby shower where guests are asked to bring their favorite children's book in lieu of a card. Mom will be able to start building baby's collection before they've even arrived! You can even plan the food around favorite nursery rhymes or theme the whole shower around Mom's favorite children's book.

Baby Shower Gift Box
Does Mom live far away from family or friends? Send the baby shower to her by filling a large shipping box with gifts from all those that would attend if the distance was shorter. Ship it to Mom all at once and she'll feel your sentiments wherever she happens to be.

Vintage Alphabet Blocks
Similar to the "Around the Clock" wedding shower, host an "Alphabet" shower for baby. Assign guests a certain letter of the alphabet, or grouping of letters (A-C, M-O, etc.) depending on the number of people that are invited. The invite should instruct guests to select a gift according to their assigned letter. (B= blanket, bib, bottle).

You can get creative with the food and make each food item relate to a letter. A is for apple tart, B is for bacon wrapped beans, C is for citrus spritzers, etc.

Lastly, you might want to think about making the baby shower all about mom, especially if this is her 2nd, 3rd or 4th baby. Get the girls together and have everyone join Mom for a day at the spa. Of course, the hostesses should cover the cost of Mom's procedures, or have every guest chip in and pay a portion. The latter idea works well if you're gathering a small group of close friends. Make sure to find a spa in your area that offers "prenatal friendly" services!

Let us know how they go!

Celebrate with a Burlee

May 20, 2011 | By Cari Hale
Burlap is all the rage these days, so it's no wonder that someone came up with a clever way to incorporate it into children's lives and decor.

Burlees, as we like to call them, are painted burlap signs that hang from your front door, nursery door or hook in your home to celebrate all things baby and birthday.

Announce it to your neighbors, you're having a girl! Hang this adorable welcome sign on your front door so everyone can see for themselves your latest bit of news. It works great when later hung in the nursery as part of your decor.

We absolutely love the idea of taking the boy/girl burlees to the hospital so you can proudly inform passers by of your new arrival.

Snag this celebratory burlee and use it for many years to come! Use it to celebrate loved ones birthdays or mark a party destination with style. Painted burlap candles are included with this burlee so you can clip candles to the sign for each year of life. Extra candles can be ordered so you won't be limited by age!

A Mile in Their Shoes

May 18, 2011 | By Cari Hale
It's a crucial time when you itty bitty's start to walk. They need flexible support so they can get used to balancing on different terrain and so that their little feet can be shaped and molded properly...but you still want  high-style and adorable designs! And since not all shoes are created equal (moms, you know that!), we've searched to bring you the best soles we can.

Livie and Luca shoes was created in 2005 when a trio of mother's got together and decided there were not shoes that were modern, flexible, and affordable for their babies and children. They put their minds together and decided to create their own brand. Livie and Luca was born and sported the ever appropriate tagline "Adorable shoes for adorable feet".

Livie and Luca uses only the best brightly colored leathers to bring their modern and whimsical designs to life. Each design strives to capture the pure essence of childhood. Their designs are inspired by nature, folklore and the rich imagination of children (including the imaginations of their own kids!).

Each pair of Livie and Luca shoes are handcrafted by expert shoemakers who leave their mark on each pair of shoes under the strap. In an effort to be eco-conscience, Live and Luca chooses to make their shoes from high quality leather remains that would otherwise be wasted. Because of these handmade touches, each shoe is as unique as the child who wears them!

The quality, comfortable construction of Livie and Luca allows each child to navigate the playground, walk the city streets and hike the dusty pathways with ease. Their Spring 2011 styles are fantastic, and range from size 4 to 13!

We're counting down the days until our Fall 2011s shipment arrives with unique and eclectic boys and girls shoes. We know we'll be just as blown away as we were with Spring!
