Zoo Bibs

Mar 28, 2011 | By Cari Hale
What do you do when you're out of the house and your baby or toddler make a mess of their bib? Surely you won't throw it in the diaper bag and risk getting mashed peas all over everything else...would you?

Skip*Hop's creative minds came together to solve this very dilemma. Their newest product, the  Zoo Bib tucks away into itself so you can hide away messes until you're able to clean them up.

There's no extra cases to carry and  no special techniques to master. Here, see for yourself!

Choose from the adorable owl, monkey or dog Zoo Bib... they even coordinate with the Skip*Hop plate/bowl sets as well as the backpacks and lunch boxes.

Oh, and one last thing- they're machine washable, too! Who would have thought...

Just Bag It!

Mar 24, 2011 | By Cari Hale
Have you had a chance to notice how much stuff you need for such a small person?! And once you get said stuff, where do you put it?

Your diaper bag will be your new best friend. Promise. (Okay, well maybe besides your new little addition!) Plain or patterned, cloth or leather, masculine or feminine, there are TONS of choices when you're selecting a diaper bag. It's important that the bag you choose has all the features you will want and need, so here's a breakdown of some of our favorite bag lines.

Amy Butler

You will not find a bigger bag than this! All your daily essentials and more will fit comfortably in our canvas/leather tote- complete with changing pad. Once your itty bitty grows out of the diaper bag stage, Amy Butler's bags are perfect to use as overnight totes, beach bags or carry on's. We all love double-duty products!

A second Amy Butler option is the cloth handle canvas tote. It's the same style and design as the leather handle tote featured above, except that you get a funky coordinating fabric on your handles. We love that the changing pad comes in a handy case that keeps it together and out of the way.

Skip Hop

Mom and Dad will both enjoy the sporty style and durability of the Skip Hop Via Messenger bag. One feature we love- the stroller strap. It's conveniently (and discretely) attached to the should strap and effortlessly clips off to wrap around your stroller handlebars. It's perfect for shopping trips when you need to save your stroller basket for fun purchases!!

skip hop bento bag
You get bang for your buck with the Skip Hop Bento Bag- part diaper bag, part lunch kit. The unisex design is ideal for parents with 1+ children. You can easily store your baby's bottles in the fully insulated side pockets and your toddler's snacks in the fully insulated bento kit that comes with the bag. The three plastic containers fit into the insulated bento bag and store away in a convenient pouch at the bottom of the bag.

The Bento Bag even has dual handles- one messenger strap or 2 shoulder straps with padded wrap-around. What will they think of next!

Petunia Pickle Bottom
diaper bag
Petunia Pickle Bottom is by far the most feminine diaper bag line out there. Their seasonal patterns, splashes of funky color and special touches, like embroidered patterns, set them apart from all the others. The Sashay Satchel bag (shown) carries like a purse or a backpack. Perfect for when your hands are full of little mischievous hands!

If you're children are a little older, of if you're just packing for a quick trip down the street it's safe to say you can take this snazzy little number. The Touring can be worn three different ways- as a small hobo, as a long-shoulder bag or strapped to the stroller with the Petunia Pickle Bottom stroller clips. And when you're done toting a diaper bag, how about using it as a purse? It's definitely cute enough!

Remember the "special touches" we mentioned? Here's an example of the embroidered patterns. Just a little something extra that enhances the style while still maintaining maximum durability and practicality.

The Boxy Backpack, besides being a great everyday diaper bag, has another special feature- the back of the bag zips down to reveal a fold-out padded changing mat. Say goodbye to public changing tables...and lots of germs! You can conveniently carry the boxy backpack over your shoulder or on your back. We think it would be great for Disney World...better plan a trip!

The Itty Bitty Bella Girls think this bag is divine. The Weekender, by Petunia Pickle Bottom is the perfect travel bag or bag for long days out. A changing mat and wipe case each have their own spot so you can quickly diaper change on the go. Like all the Petunia Pickle Bottom bags, this one is great for using after baby has grown up. Take it on weekend getaways with your special someone (after all, you deserve it!) or on the plane for far away vacations.

It's probably worth noting that all the diaper bags shown come with their own changing pad. More than likely it will get many, many (dare I say...many!) uses.

Good luck narrowing down your search. It's a tough choice!

Designing the Nest

Mar 21, 2011 | By Cari Hale
Trying to decide how to plan your nursery? You're mind might be over flowing with ideas, or you might be void of all creative inspiration...but either way you have roughly 9 months to get your nursery done. Seems like a long time...until you actually get to doing it!

To help you hit the ground running we've come up with a few nursery's that are creative, classy, modern and transitional. Make a list of what you love (and hate), narrow it down to "girl", "boy" or "neutral" and find that one piece that sets off the entire room. Some items that are perfect as inspiration pieces: crib bedding, glider upholstery, artwork, rug or fabric swatch (curtains, perhaps?)!

And, as always, bring your inspiration (or lack thereof) to Itty Bitty Bella and we'll help you pull together the perfect look using as much or as little time as you have!

Our favorite nursery? Maybe! The horizontal stripes are the perfect touch to a neutral color scheme and add interest without going bright and bold. And how cute is that pillow? (Hint, we've got it at Itty Bitty Bella!). With a couple color swaps this nursery would be ideal for either a boy or a girl.

Don't be afraid of using bold color and even bolder accents. Go ahead and get creative with your child's nursery...for a couple reasons: 1. They can't tell you they don't like it. 2. They're only a baby for a little while, so you don't have to feel guilty when you feel like changing directions and 3. You're the mom!

If bright, bold walls are not your thing (hate to paint?) then infuse the nursery with color and creativity using accent pieces that are not only easy to apply, but easily replaced when you're ready to update. We love how this family kept it "girly" with the salmon pink, but popped some unexpected yellow and orange to brighten things up!

If neutrals are your thing, and you just can't bring yourself to step outside your box, consider the nursery above. Classic, clean and simple. A plus to a neutral nursery? You're killing two (or more) birds with one stone because the colors, finishes and even some furniture can grow with your baby for years to come. Not a bad idea...

Sometimes finding cute ahem, manly, boy themes and products can be challenging. So when we see a well done nursery such as this- all boy,  a little edgy, and that can grow with them for a few years- we're all eyes! We love the pops of color, the clean lines and not-so-baby bedding and decor.

Does this help? We sure hope so! Feel free to ask us any questions along the way.

MD Moms

Mar 19, 2011 | By Cari Hale
Times are changing for the changing table. At least that what pediatrician moms Diane and JJ believe. And if you're sick of sneezing over baby powder, fighting with the diaper cream container, and oh yeah, packing a gazillion products in your diaper bag so that you're covered no matter what...then you believe it too.

After years of hearing the same skin-care complaints in their pediatric offices and years of raising little one's themselves, Diane and JJ finally put an end to lack luster infant skin care products- or at least offered up a better solution!

MD Moms combines a pediatrician's knowledge with a mother's instinct and wisdom to create a line of skin care products idea for baby's delicate skin.

MD Moms boasts...
  • Gentle, yet highly effective ingredients
  • Pure, natural ingredients
  • Hypoallergenic formula
  • Concentrated formulas- small does, big results
  • Protection from environmental damage
  • "Double-Duty" products
  • Easy, one-handed use
  • Modern aesthetics and design
  • Easily travels everywhere you do!

The cleansing towelettes keep baby clean from cheeks to cheeks! The alcohol-free blend of marine silk, vitamins E and B5, organic aloe and comfrey provides moisturizing and antioxidant benefits for you little ones. The ginger and chamomile in each wipe soothe and calm even the most irritated skin.

The gift set makes the perfect shower gift. The Moisturizing Balm, Soothing Bottom Relief and the Delicate Skin Comfort are the three basic products that will get you through almost anything!

The mixture of natural ingredients in the moisturizing balm are good enough to eat! The quick-absorbing, lightweight formula is ideal for maintaining the skin's natural moisture barrier. Shea butter, aloe, oat, avocado oil and other luxurious ingredients combine to make a lotion you will love using yourself. Don't worry, we won't tell!

Delicate Skin Comfort- Finally, a talc-free baby powder that will not have you sneezing and leaving a mess each time you use it! The liquid formula goes on like a lotion, but then quickly transforms into a silky dry powder to keep even the littlest of crevices dry and cool.

Diaper rash. Every baby gets it, nobody likes it. The Soothing Bottom Relief- a lightweight lotion that smooths on white then turns clear to protect, soothe, heal and moisturize little baby bottoms- will clear up even the worst case. No more diaper rash. Sound good? We thought so!

Kiss cradle cap goodbye! MD Moms Gentle Scalp Rub helps brush away flakes and scales that are associated with cradle cap. It's mild enough for everyday use to leave baby's scalp and hair clean, moisturized and soft.

As the summer sun starts to show it's face don't forget to protect both you and your baby. Skip the messy lotions that make for teary eyes and sticky skin. Instead give MD Moms Babysafe Sunscreen Towelettes a chance. You won't be disappointed! Don't worry about getting the right amount either- each towelette has enough sunscreen to cover the average 2 year old from head-to-toe.

Pop into Itty Bitty Bella to try all of the MD Moms products. Don't forget to stock the diaper bag and the nursery!
