Off to Hawaii!

May 31, 2011 | By
Well folks, I'm taking off. Brent (my husband) and I are headed to Hawaii for ten beautiful days in the sun and sand.

I don't tell you this to make you jealous, I promise. I tell you this because I'm going to steal a quick minute to go tour the Ergo Baby headquarters.  I bet you didn't know it was based out of Hawaii, did you!

I'm so excited to meet the creators and see the inner workings. I LOVE the Ergo baby carriers, and this is just the icing on the cake!

Stay tuned, I'll be sure to take lots of pictures. It will feel like y'all are there with me...maybe :)

See you in a couple weeks!

Baby K'tan Carrier

May 27, 2011 | By
Unless you've been living under a rock, it comes as no surprise that baby wearing is most popular today. It keeps baby close and comfortable while giving momma the chance to clean, cook, read a book or just hang out. And don't forget the constant bonding!

Baby K'tan Carrier
If you're in the market for a sling or wrap carrier, look no further than Baby K'tan. What is Baby K'tan, you ask? It's a soft cloth cotton carrier that can be worn all the same ways as a cotton wrap...but you don't have the hassle of wrapping, tying and maneuvering yards of fabric.

Baby K'tan features two cotton loops that are connected with a back support band (a third cotton loop). This ergonomic design allows the Baby K'tan to worn in multiple positions, without complicated wrapping.  It takes the benefits of a sling wrap and a structured carrier and combines it into one.

Baby K'tan Carrier
Baby K'tan is conveniently sized according to your shirt size- from extra small to extra large. And one of the best parts- it's machine washable!

Slip away for a couple minutes and watch our tutorial video. You can see for yourself just how easy it is to use (and we don't even have kids!).

Have Baby, Will Travel - Peg Perego Infant Seats

May 25, 2011 | By
There are plenty of infant seats on the market today, so how's a new mom to choose? Let us help narrow your search by introducing you to Peg Perego. Besides their beautiful, Italian design and luxurious fabrics, there are four key points that sets them apart from all of the other infant seats on the market.

In no particular order, here they are:

1. Side Impact Protection

Peg Perego Infant Seat
As you can tell, the support, structure and protection around your baby's head is like none other. Literally. There is no other infant seat that has as good side impact protection. Peg Perego invests many of their resources into researching the absolute best in safety, protection and comfort. Simply put, it's piece of mind as you're driving among less-than-cautious fellow drivers.

2. Made in Italy

Peg Perego Infant Seat
All Peg Perego infant seats are 100% made in Italy- from design to construction to final details. And if you know anything about Italians, you know they're all about quality!

3. No Re-Threading

Peg Perego Infant Seat

When it's time to adjust the height of the straps, you won't have to worry about stressful threading. Most seats require you to completely un-thread or remove the straps and physically re-thread them into the different slots/positions. Peg Perego was thinking and designed a simple lever in the back of the seat. Simply pull up or down depending on the height your looking to achieve. The lever locks into place so you don't have to worry about it slipping while your child is in the seat.

4. Breathable Fabrics

Peg Perego Infant Seat
Definitely a plus during these Southern summers! Everywhere the baby comes in contact with is upholstered in plush, breathable fabric. No more sweaty babies!

Besides the 4 enticing reasons above, the 2011 Peg Perego color selection is  beautiful! Java, a beautiful combination of chocolate brown and a khaki with a contrasting pin stripe is among our favorites!

Happy (and safe!) travels!

Baby Showers- What to Do

May 23, 2011 | By
Hosting a baby shower anytime soon? Before you rush out and buy a house full of pink and blue streamers, check out some of our favorite ideas for uniquely themed baby showers. Trust us, your guests and the momma to be will thank you!!

Classic Books
Who doesn't love a good book? Not you, and certainly not the guest of honor. Plan a reading themed baby shower where guests are asked to bring their favorite children's book in lieu of a card. Mom will be able to start building baby's collection before they've even arrived! You can even plan the food around favorite nursery rhymes or theme the whole shower around Mom's favorite children's book.

Baby Shower Gift Box
Does Mom live far away from family or friends? Send the baby shower to her by filling a large shipping box with gifts from all those that would attend if the distance was shorter. Ship it to Mom all at once and she'll feel your sentiments wherever she happens to be.

Vintage Alphabet Blocks
Similar to the "Around the Clock" wedding shower, host an "Alphabet" shower for baby. Assign guests a certain letter of the alphabet, or grouping of letters (A-C, M-O, etc.) depending on the number of people that are invited. The invite should instruct guests to select a gift according to their assigned letter. (B= blanket, bib, bottle).

You can get creative with the food and make each food item relate to a letter. A is for apple tart, B is for bacon wrapped beans, C is for citrus spritzers, etc.

Lastly, you might want to think about making the baby shower all about mom, especially if this is her 2nd, 3rd or 4th baby. Get the girls together and have everyone join Mom for a day at the spa. Of course, the hostesses should cover the cost of Mom's procedures, or have every guest chip in and pay a portion. The latter idea works well if you're gathering a small group of close friends. Make sure to find a spa in your area that offers "prenatal friendly" services!

Let us know how they go!
