All Boy: Our Favorite Color Schemes

Mar 28, 2012 | By Cari Hale

Boys will be boys...isn't that how the saying goes? If you're expecting boys you had better get used to hearing that; and you had better get used to blue, blue and more blue! Even though you might be able to get away with aqua, white, light blue and some green for the nursery (providing dad approves!), you'll be needing some all-boy inspiration when the "big boy" room rolls around.

Here are some of our favorite "all boy" color schemes. They would even work if dad wants a macho, boy nursery, too!

More Provence Tones Color Scheme

Keep things a little softer while still adding a masculine touch. Throw in some unique industrial elements (think dresser hardware and light fixtures) to really amp this up.

Yellow Infusion Color Scheme

Go bold!! Yellow is huge right now, and a touch of it here and there really pops off dark blues.

Swimmingly Bright Color Scheme

Sticking with more traditional boy colors, the orange really brightens up the blues and adds an unexpected pop of color.

Tin Tones Color Scheme

This just may be our personal favorite! We love the soft browns, deep blues as well as the lighter touches. Think rustic metal accessories and you have yourself a room that will grow with your boys for a loooong time!

Boating Blues Color Scheme

Okay, so we just can't give up the teals and aquas...can you blame us? Cool grey walls would be a great way to pop the different shades of blue.

What do you think? How are you decorating your "boy" rooms?
